followed the easy video on etrailer, sprayed wd-40 in the 6 weld nuts on my 05 ody, tried screwing the bolts in and no luck. 3 hours later, i can get 1 bolt in halfway.

the weld nuts are full of rust. i've been using wd40 and a battery terminal cleaner. anything easier?

A tap will clean those threads right out and make the job so much easier.

A tap in this size can be hard to find. As an alternative, pick up an extra bolt, cut lengthwise grooves in it, and use that as a tap. The rust particles will fall out through the grooves instead of binding the threads.

Also, there are better rust dissolvers out there than WD40. I hear PB blaster is very good.
