I am trying to program my HomeLink on my 2011 EX-L to work with my 9 year old Craftsman door opener without any success so far. Unfortunately, I can't find the remotes.

For my other vehicles (Acura TL, 2003 Ody), I simply pressed the "train" button on the opener, then held down a homelink button on the car and it synced. However, the 2011 EX-L won't sync, and the instructions say that I need a remote.

Is there any other alternative?

I have always needed a remote. I didn't know you could sync without the remote.

How to program your garage door opener to your vehicle.
Works perfectly...
I used this with a 2012. Basically, you just hold the Home-Link button in the car and then another person pushes the square "Learn" button that is located on the garage door unit itself (do NOT hold, just push). You'll then see the light flash to confirm that it is paired, and you push the HomeLink button and it just works!
I wasted an hour messing around with the instructions in the owner's manual, and nothing worked until I found this post!
