While I don't like it, I am sure some of you will.

Hmmmm, I wonder where they located the air inlet they used to pump the CRV up?

Seriously, this is pure Honda. Safe, safe, safe. The Pilot and CRV design teams obviously worked very, very closely.
FWIW, I kinda like it, as I have come to really like the Toyota Highlander.

That is so true. A last gen CRV at that. I like the Chrysler Pacifica much better if we are talking about SUV/cross-overs.
Hondanews.com has the pictures. They officially announced it today.

Can you say, Odyssey? Seriously. Take a look at the view from the back with all the seats down.

I'm halfway interested--although, unless I miss my guess, what they'll ask for the Pilot will make the $30K price on my Ody look reasonable.
Whew! I was afraid that Honda would screw up the styling as they did with the new CR-V - which I hate(my opinion of course). I actually think the Highlander is nicer looking, but I can't buy from a company that I know caved in to The Reverend(ahem) Jesses Jackson.

Now if I can get this Pilot in black, and have the grey ribbed-for-HER-pleasure valance panels painted to match...

Thanks for the info, DDakRT.
Not bad. At some angles it looks like an MDX.Also looks like a Highlander in some. Some dash parts/acc from the Ody parts bin.
Definitely another seller for Honda.

The name is interesting. The Odyssey and the Pilot All-Terrain Vehicles were built up until 1990(?). Now we have the Odyssey minivan and the Pilot SUV. Why did Honda recycle the names like that?
I expect that thing to be $40-45K.

Basic MDX, which looks a lot like the Pilot, starts at US$35K. I think it might be closer to that for a basic model, maybe even a little less.
My guess was based on the prototype having leather interior and DVD and/or Navi installed. I imagine it'll be priced around a similarly equipped Sequioa (sp?).

MSRP for an MDX w/ DVD and leather is about US$39,400.
They'll have to set the msrp lower for the Pilot. Why would you buy it, if you could get the Acura nameplate for the same price?

Indicdentally, Honda is recycling the Pilot name. The original Pilot was an ATV manufactured only in 1989-90. They have a loyal following still. Check out, for esample,

But wait! There's more!

Prior to the Minivan Odyssey, there was in 1985 an Odyssey ATV:

Can't they think up new names?

I guess if Ford keeps bringing back something called the Thunderbird, we can't fault Honda for being linguistically challenged.

Interesting... the rear doors look like they were taken right off the Mitsubishi Montero Sport. I am not sure about the styling of this SUV. It didn't 'grab' me at all. I was hoping for a more distinctive shape....

I like it! Sounds like it has a lot of family (kid) friendly features that I wish my Ody had-like a useable center console and center row storage for example. Also, eight passenger seating would be nice as would the advanced all wheel drive system.
I would guess the price to be 30-35k or so...

According to:

Price will be about 25k-30k.

I think I'll wait on the Ody to check out this bad boy.
