Is there a hood ornament for the ody? I have trouble seeing the front end and may this would help. It may also improve the looks.

Maybe read this old discussion. We talked about putting a back-up sensor in the front rather than in the back of the van. It's a possible solution for you I would think.

You have to pretty much lift yourself out of the seat to see the deflector.
