Honda took big steps with the 2002 model Odyssey toward distancing itself (very far away) from the competition, but there’s always room for improvement. What sorts of things do YOU think they should add, within reason (can’t have 46 airbags, or wings like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang)?

Here’s my short list of stuff I’d like to see on a future model of the Odyssey:

AWD – MDX move over, I got me an Odyssey XC (Cross Country).

A 50/50 or 60/40 split 3d row seat – like in the MDX we considered buying, so you can match passengers and cargo to seating better

Daytime running lights – though auto-off will suffice

Real oil pressure gauge – until you’ve needed one, you’ll never know how important this can be

Full sized spare – though I’ve no idea where they’d put it (maybe in one of those African safari racks on the roof of my Odyssey XC)

Side view and front windshield defrosters – at least for those in snow accumulation country
---------------------------------------------------------------------
’90 4Runner – great, but inadequate for a family of 5
’86 Civic – bye, bye my little old friend
’02 GG Odyssey EX-L-RES w/all the fixings – hello, my new best friend

From your lists, we in Canada are happy to already have heated mirrors and daytime running lights :)

Soft touch interior plastics that don't chip and srcatch so easily. Sunroof, A/C plug near the dash, not on the floor. Curb lights like on the MDX. Carpet on the interior of the hatch door so packages don't scratch the plastic. Carpeted side cargo walls. Sound deadening in the doors as well as the floors. Horn from MDX. Better carpets.

We in Canada would like RES and NAV offered individually or together - it sure beats not at all.

Memory seats and mirrors would also be nice

Cheers

sunroof!
sunroof!
sunroof!

Actually, they could have more than one. Or just a really big one up front. Take a look at the Subaru Forester's moonroof sometime. That's what I'm talking about!
My 2000 Civic Si has a power moonroof, and I will most likely never buy another vehicle without one for myself.

More power! 240 hp just isn't enough for me! I want an Ody that runs the 1/4 mile in 16 seconds.
A factory supercharger option would be sweet.*

I would also like to see a little less body roll, but I believe this may have been addressed on the 2002 with some suspension tweaking.

* My dream is to buy a trailer and have my Odyssey tow my suped-up trailer-queen Civic Si to autocross events all over the country.
More torque would certainly be welcome, along with a heavy-duty towing package.

1) Auto Up&Down for both front Windows.

2) Auto-Locking! Every Ford in the last 10 years has this, as does my VW!

3) Heated Seats/Mirrors/Washer Nozzles

4) Adjustable Tilt Head Rests...Current ones are useless!

5) Paddle Shifters for when I'm in the mood!

My Passat has all these and a lot more! (Except the Shifters!)

Come On Honda...get off your butt!
