Hi,
I pulled my intake manifold yesterday to clean the EGR port. When I went reinstall everything I elected to re-use the existing throttle body spacer gasket (the spacer broke loose from the manifold before the throttle body broke loose of the spacer) as it seemed to be in very good shape. It was made out of a robust rubbery green plastic material and it seemed like it was going to be a real pain to cut off and end up with a clean the surface. I suspected that I wasn't going to end up with as nice a fit as already seemed to exist.
I did have a pair of aftermarket throttle body gaskets on hand so it was a judgement call rather than a necessity. I installed a new Honda OEM manifold gasket.
I am wondering if I am going to regret not going the extra mile and installing a new throttle body spacer gasket. Has anyone had success or failure in doing this? What should I look out for with regards to a potential problem?
Thank you.
