It must be that in an attempt to understand the human species, aliens beam up one or more forums in the Odyclub. When they are done with their examination, they replace the messages (unharmed).
The aliens must have found that the "forum abduction method" allows them to stay within their budgets - it is much more expensive to abduct an entire car dealership or even a single minivan than a portion of a website.
