Idle surges in Park

Anyone out there have this problem? After my 01 EX is warmed up, the idle surges from 800-1500 rpms. Normally will go away when I accelerate. Haven't brought it into the dealer yet. Problem is intermittent and the dealer will probably say there's nothing wrong.

Unfortunately, if the vehicle won't repeat the symptom in the presense of the dealer, there's not much they can do. If you're lucky, it will either do the deed for the dealer or they'll find a fault code in the computer when they hook up the diagnostic machines.

Either way, I agree that an 800 to 1500 rpm swing, whether your in park or not, isn't normal. I'd bet you've got a bad sensor somewhere.

Good luck!

I had the problem but when I was "gearing down" for a stop. That "surge" almost totalled a couple of cars! See my post on "How do you stop this thing"
