I have been saying this every day for a months, it's torture. I picked out a dealer fo my Red Pear, with leather and Nav. My plan is to keep strait and I hope I won't be talked into anything, no other options. I plan on buying the Honda Warranty 7/10000 from tracy,or them if they match her price, other than tax, I have to pay to register the car. This dealer may pressure because they are selling it at 500 below MSRP. I will not waiver from my mission, I will walk if they pur items on the car, I'm way maxxed out. If I walk I'll walk to Mazda. I hear they have a new 200plus horsepower enging.

The first thing I said to the sales rep and then to her manager was to ask them if we could do a deal without any of the usual add-ons. The both smiled and agreed.

Of course, they still tried a bit, when we took delivery.

They wanted us to buy their remote starter ("discounted" from $750 to $450, actually worth maybe $150-200).

I still think it can be helpful to tell them up front that you have done your research and already know what add-ons you need and don't want any pressure from them.

Regards,

Maugham

Thanks Maugham, I took your advice and told them I don't want any add-ons. I placed my order for Redrock Pearl with Nav. today. They said delivery about end of April to mid May. BTW $500 below MSRP.

I just put my deposit on my Brilliant Silver Metallic EX-L. Looks like MSRP. 28690 here in CT. I am so excited and anxious. I've never owned a minivan...been a Subaru driver for many many years.
Can't wait!

p.s. They're saying 3 months for delivery. I'm hoping they're wrong...they've said that some have come in recently in 3 weeks.
We'll see...

moose...I drove the MPV and it doesn't even come close to the Odyssey. Not by a long shot. The MPV wasn't as nice a ride.

Carol, Good luck on your purchase, it is exciting. Look into the extended warranty from Tracy for 7/100,000 for about $875. I went to college near you at Quinnipiac in Hamden.

You folks have me concerned. I'm halfway through my 10-17 day wait for an EXL-RES at MSRP, but I keep hearing about 3-4 month waits here. Whats up with that? I'll be quite interested in my VIN, which I expect any day now. Can I determine from the VIN if the van was built for canada(grey market)?

She sells genuine Honda Warranty's like 7 year 100,000 miles for $875. I learned about it from this forum. Check the Waranty forum. I also know of another Honda place selling the same thing. Here are their phone numbers, mention you got them from Odyclub, Steve Larson 800-626-3231 another Tracy 800-264-3275. Perhaps your dealer will match the price.

I paid MSRP for my 02 Ody. No pressure at all from the dealer to add anything on to the vehicle. In fact the dealer got me the front end mask and the cargo tray at his cost. The salesman suggested I go to Handa to purchase mud guards because the dealer charged so much. There was no pressure at all to purchase the Honda Care. They said as long as you purchase it before the warranty runs out I'd be OK and that is what I plan to do. He was awesome. Today I took the van in for the first oil change and they did if for free just to say thanks. Robertson Palmdale Honda, Palmdale California Rocks!

I think that you would be disappointed if you go with the Mazda. It is much smaller. I bet that the Mazda dealeres will not want to deal much on the 2002s. They are still trying to sell the rest of their 2001s.
