Interior dome light - can I replace it?

17142 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  mlong2004
I have a 2006 Odyssey, and the front interior light (just the driver's side) is out. I know it's not just off, because we tried that. I can't find a way to get in there to replace the bulb. Any suggestions?

--This is the light that is right under there garage door opener buttons that toggles on/off or comes on automatically when the doors are open.

Get a small flat head screwdriver and stick it in back end of the light lens. Then carefully pry it out. Do the same on the opposite side. There are no screws to remove, just pry that cover off.
Sure you can. Welcome to the Odyclub. Look for threads by XenonDepot. They sell LED light kits. If you want to go conventional, you can get a replacement bulb as well.
The replacement OEM bulbs are 3-4 each. I tried a pair of LED's (I think I paid $15 shipped from ebay) and didnt like the tone of the light. Sounds weird, I know. I guess you'd have to try them, some really like them.
Just replaced both bulbs for $5. Very easy. Thanks for all the advice. The covers popped off very quickly and easily.
