I was thrilled to find out I could control my ipod connected via USB by voice commands.
For example:
- ipod search
- Play genre rock
or
- Play artist Billy Joel
etc.
The downside I'm seeing is that every time I turn on the car it needs to rebuild the voice recognition database for the ipod. So if I'm 2 minutes into a trip and I say "ipod search" I get a message that say something like "Generating voice recognition...." Eventually it will tell me it's done and I can use voice commands, but I don't want to wait 5-10 minutes to be able to do it. That's the length of most of the trips I take in the car right now.
I could probably understand if I was unplugging the unit or taking it out of the car, but I leave it in there all the time. I would expect it to retain whatever database it had built previously.
Has anyone else used the feature and found this to be an issue?
