That happens sometimes on my MDX. Sometimes the iPod doesn't turn off when you turn off the car, then it will stay on until the battery drains. So essentially, when the iPod charges up again when you start your next trip, it thinks its a new iPod and start the whole process again. Try resetting your iPod by pressing the play and menu button at the same time for a few seconds or make sure you have the latest firmware for your iPod.
