And also, does it disengage 3 of the cylinders when cruising for economy or did that feature come with later models?

I was under the impression that regular unleaded gas (87 octane) was okay for it but I see websites that cite "Premium Unleaded" for it. Which is correct?

I have a 2003 Ody EX-L and its owners manual says to use an "unleaded gasoline,pump octane rating of 86 or higher".

If you are at a higher elevation, you can even use a lower octane. In the higher mountain elevations, the Regular grade octane rating is 85 whereas in the lower elevations, the Regular grade octane rating is usually 87.

I found the below by Googling:

"Vehicles equipped with VCM

* 2003 Honda Inspire
* 2005-2007 Honda Accord Hybrid (JNA1)
* 2005+ Honda Odyssey EX-L and Touring Models only (J35)
* 2006+ Honda Civic Hybrid
* 2006+ Honda Pilot 2WD Models only (J35)
* 2008 Honda Accord except EX-L V6 6MT Coupe
* 2009+ Honda Pilot (all models)"
