And the barcode being good is a good sign. The only thing that concerns me is the little white sticker. Something about that font reads fake to me.

I just bought a bag of weed from a jungle. Could someone tell me if my bag of weed is genuine stuff? :sneaky:;);)

Actually, here's a better question: what does the barcode underneath the sticker come out as?

This came from amazon

Genuine Honda 17130-RCA-A02 PCV Valve Assembly https://a.co/d/eMV8QnJ
There are multiple sellers on Amazon. I am assuming that you got the $25 special from the seller MTQ Inc?

I would look at the other sellers section, pay a bit more and get one from one of the multiple Honda dealers who are selling on Amazon. I have done that if/when I got OEM parts from Amazon.

I purchased two of these same PCV valves this past month. One was from Majestic Honda and the other was from the Amazon seller MTQ Inc.

The MTQ item was identical in every way to the Majestic one: package size, crimping style, color, lettering, etc. Since it was shipped directly from MTQ, it did not have the Amazon sticker shown on the OP's photos. The PCV valves both rattled in the same manner.

Both PCV valves' packaging looked identical to the photos above (except for the Amazon sticker).

looking at the reviews, I believe it's a genuine part
AFAIK, the Amazon reviews are for the actual part and the listing is for genuine part. They do NOT separate the reviews up by seller so if a dealer and a fake seller sell this part under that same listing, the review will NOT decipher if the review saying the part was OEM was for the dealer version of sale v/s the fake version of the sale.

Please feel free to correct me if my understanding of how Amazon reviews work is off base here.

How much time does it take to change the PCV? Once changed, test it:

What are the signs of a faulty PCV valve?
  1. excessive suction on the oil cap.
  2. a discoloration or film-like residue forming on the underside of the oil cap.
  3. whistling noises coming from the engine.
  4. the emission of white exhaust smoke.

There is a school of thought here which says, regardless of if the PCV is good or bad, change it at around 150K when you do the valve cover gaskets and valve adjustment because the PCV valve gets brittle over time and is a bear to take out once its too brittle and tends to break while removing it causing half or more of it to stay in the cavity.

There are several threads on that issue where people then use a screw or something to pull out the rest and worst case, you need to open the valve cover if you drop pieces of plastic inside.
