Well, here's my first step into making our van into JDM. Next will be the tailights, but that'll be in the far future.

(Hopefully the 1st in the Bay Area, huh Nestor ?)

I decided to exclude the exclusive(haha! no pun intended!) since it didn't look like it matched the font in "Lagreat".Plus "mrmiata" has first dibs on it!

Peter,
The Lagreat is the 2nd Gen Odyssey being marketed in Japan. An Odyssey in Japan is still our 1st Gen. Apparently they wanted to keep the original Odyssey and market the Lagreat as a higher-end vehicle.
Hope that answers your question.

Well, as far as I'm concern - YES. But you never know, so far we've seen these things pop up in both Hawaii and Tennessee! You never know.

Nice conversion BTW!

Did you have to remove the inside paneling of the tailgate in order to install the LaGreat tag ? If so, how difficult was it to remove the paneling ?

He probably did it w/ a hair dryer...just 'softened' the glue until he could pull the old one off...

Just like what Nyvram and Nestor mentioned, a hair dryer and some floss are all you need. Easy job.

I used a plastic bodywork squeegee, some googone and a little dental floss. Worked on the Miata and worked just as well on the Ody. The pain in the butt was changing out the H on the hatch, as I had to take the inner panel off to get to the pins on the back.

The grille badge was easy to change out. Now if I could just get a bronze grille surround to match all the badges...

I'm confused...is this because you changed it from silver to bronze? ..or is the Honda "H" emblem different on the Lagreat?

I'm confused, too. There are pins on the "H" on the hatch, but they're just aligning pins. There are no retainers on them, so you don't need to remove the inner panel. You just remove it like the other hatch emblem.

Yes, I went from chrome to bronze, and no there weren't retainers, but I wanted to retain the pins and not bend the H, so I got behind it to push after removing as much of the adhesive as possible. I specifically remember being a little perturbed that I needed to take the van apart.

I'm probably not completely remembering the exact reason behind taking it apart, or whether there were retainers or not. The day I did this was one of the worst days of a *very* turbulent period in my life. I did the lights and badges that night just to take my mind off of everything.
