I find this annoying, and I don't think I am alone. Is there a way to have the van beep a feedback when the lock button on the remote is pressed once and not twice? If the van doesn't perform any other function like activating the security system on the second press of the button, then it should beep the first time.

Most people probably find the beep annoying (not the lack of it). Hence press twice if you want audible confirmation. I'm old and deaf in one ear and can't hear out of the other so if I don't hear the "cachunk" of the doors locking, I hit it again to be sure it locked.--Dave

Yes and yes. Its all in your owners manual :)
Umm no. It only confirms with the 2nd press. Its active and armed with the first press when the lights flash.

I know, I know, RTFM.

This is what the owners manual says (pg 113)-

â–  Locking the doors
Press the lock button.
Once:
Some exterior lights flash, all the doors
and the tailgate lock, and the security
system sets.

Twice (within five seconds after the first
push):
A beeper sounds and verifies the security
system* is set.
