I considered it early on but when I realized it didn't use a roll up shade approach, I decided at against it. Besides, with additional window film installed its pretty tough to see into the vehicle from the rear.

From everything I've read it has NO redeeming features. A piece of crap. Dealers have even refunded purchase price and replaced trim panels after seeing what a piece of s--- it is.

I have one and it sits on a shelf in my cellar. I too, expected it to be shade-like as in most SUV's, but it is rigid, not rigid enough to put anything on it, but enough not to be able to fold or roll it out of the way. The biggest complaint I have with it, is that at night, if you open the liftgate to get something, it blocks the light, so you can't see anything unless you remove it.

I too was considering this until I realized that it really is hard to see through the tinted mirrors. Also, you have to DRILL holes on the interior wall panels to do this. From what I've read from folks at edmunds, the holes are not necessarily small or easily concealed. Not good. Also, of course the high price for this...

Thanks,
Errol

"I'm considering getting a cargo cover. Is it that bad? Does anyone have one and like it?"

Well, lets put it this way...in this day and age where Odyssey's command a premium and dealers are looking for any excuse they can to rack up extra cost because they know they can, my salesman strongly advised *against* the cargo cover when we enquired about it. I think that pretty much says it all.

I've got the cargo cover. Had the dealer "throw it in" since I couldn't get below MSRP.

It is weak. Unable to hold a 124 CD book without bending and sending them sailing all over the wet parking lot of a mall in Baltmore where we went from Philly to see a baseball game that got postponed...
, but I digress. The warning on it actually says that it should not be used a shelf.

I personally don't mind the holes needed for the cargo cover because I wanted the "idea" of a "trunk". A place in the van able to hold big things and still be concealed.

I had a salesman at the dealership advise me against it as well (citing the problems that have been listed here in this thread). If car salesmen is telling you that its not worth the money, you can take that as a sure sign its junk!

Unless the markup in it is so small that it's more trouble to order and install it than it is to do without.

Believe me. I sold cars. I discouraged all sorts of stuff that wasn't bad quality but wasn't worth my effort.

It looks weak. Can you put anything on it?

From everything I've read it has NO redeeming features. Piece of useless junk. If you still want one. Ebay is selling these.
