now off the top, I am semi sure I blew the transmission... I just want to rule everything out before I drop 2500-3000 on a 'new-used' or a rebuild

I got stuck in one of our lovely new england snow storms the other day, and over powered my way out, but in doing so the trans decided it no longer likes to engage (any forward gear and reverse) and if it does engage it drops out shortly there after

the way it was orginally behaving when I did it was more like the lockup solenoid was bad... I replaced both the shift and lockup ones, and it behaved for about a mile - mile and half then dropped out again

the trans fluid doesn't look or smell burnt or discolored

when it does engage, you can feel the car 'tug' as it drops into gear
and I was able to make it engage briefly to partly move it for the plow to do part of the condo complex's driveway

any suggestions, or if we are all in agreement, anyone in CT/NY/MA know a shop that will do a 5-spd swap for same or less than a rebuild
