Anyone know exactly what date will the Pilot coming out? I decided to hold on to my 2001 Odyssey EX til the Pilot come out or I may go with the used MDX if the Pilot doesn't work out. CR-V doesn't cut for me. It is a little too small, little too noisy, and interior design doesn't go well with me. I am waiting for the New Pilot which is closer value to the Odyssey. Don't get me wrong, I love my Odyssey to death but it have too much extra room that we never use. Since we bougth the Odyssey, nobody seat in the 3rd row seat yet. I am also in the need of AWD for offroad purpose. What is the price for the pilot anyway? Can somebody give me some information on this? Thanks.

The Honda news website has some info on the Pilot which says "spring 2002." I can't find a reference on the web for an expected MSRP.

Thank you. If you hear any news on the Pilot, please let me. It would be nice if they lay out the pricing on it soon.

When I was at the dealer's several weeks ago, he indicated that they would be receiving them starting in June

You might want to place a deposit on the Pilot at least to 'possibly' lock-in at MSRP. Most dealerships will do this, knowing the release of the vehicle is imminent. I cannot imagine the addendum's/mark-ups when the Pilot arrives, considering it's a 'budget' MDX ($35k).
Worth looking into now....I know that Beaudry Honda in Tucson where taking deposits on the upcoming Civic SI already (not released yet).
Hope this helps.....

Aha! Thanks for the lead, I found the article. That price range was from a quote from a Honda exec.

Here's the data from our poll taken early January about Odyclub member guesses for the Pilot pricing. 49% of our estimates are in the same range as the AutoWeek/Honda quote. I think we did pretty good!

1 ( 2%) Less than 22,500
3 ( 5%) 22,500-24,999
12 ( 22%) 25,000-27,499
15 ( 27%) 27,500-29,999
8 ( 15%) 30,000-32,499
9 ( 16%) 32,500-34,999
4 ( 7%) 35,000-37,499
2 ( 4%) 37,500-39,999
1 ( 2%) 40,000-42,499

Thank you very much. I appreciate your info. I'll talk to the dealer. Let see how much different between the Pilot and the MDX. If it is the same price range....would as well get the MDX....MDX is Honda top rate SUV, which is better brand name and better re-sale value.

Here in Ontario, Canada one of the local dealers are advertising the Pilot will be in their showroom by June. I believe the price for the Pilot in Canada is between $34k-$40k ('bout the same as the Ody), but I am not certain on that.

Does anyone know which plant will be producing the Pilot. I have heard the plant in Alliston, Ontario (where the Ody and Civic are produced) will be one.

Here are a couple of websites about the pilot:

http://www.hondacars.com/news/press.html?y=2002&r=773

http://www.europeanhonda.demon.nl/

I saw the Pilot at the Detroit Auto Show. It was sharp. I think that it held 8 passengers. Price 25-30K Not a lot of storage space behind the back seat though. They weren't allowing anyone in it. The second website above has some good articles about the Lincoln AL plant. It looks like they will be producing Pilots there also.

Everything else I've read, including recent articles, point to Alliston, Ontario as being the only North American plant to build the Pilot, at least this year.
