I bought our first Honda Odyssey, 2017 LX with 79,000 miles. I am the 3rd owner and as far as I can tell has never had a transmission fluid drain and fill. My understanding is it should be changed every 30K miles. So my question is, is the risk of a drain and refill now hurting my transmission greater than the help it could provide with it being at 79K miles? I feel like it is at the cusp of going either way. I am not new to Hondas, my daily driver is a 1993 Accord LX with 335K that I have had for the last 20 years. So I know to use Genuine Honda trans fluid, but also know that at some point, it is better to leave a trans alone that has gone its whole life without a drain/refill.
