Been a Toyota Sienna owner since 2003. Owned 3 of those. They are good for 300+K miles and have never stranded me anywhere.

This 2012 Honda Odyssey Touring has been a thorn in my side. Not reliable. Can't take it out of town because of so many problems. I bought it because it only had 2 previous owners and ALL of the maintenance records. Everything done on schedule, most at the dealer. So I expected it to be reliable, which it was for about 35K miles. Then it hit 170K and nothing but problems. Regretting my decision to buy a Honda.

Hoping I'll find answers to the continual problems in these forums.

Welcome to the Odyclub.

Here is the VCM thread I had mentioned in the PM.

Since you are new, you cannot contact @verbatim or @maxud via PMs yet but I have tagged them for you so they should be in touch soon.

Welcome to the Club!

Would you mind detailing or discussing the problems you are having? The knowledge base here is quite extensive.
I was really only posting so I would be allowed to actually comment on posts that I was reading and to be able to respond to private messages sent to me.

I am having the same problems everyone else with VCM has. Repeated issues with engine throwing codes except that disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it has remedied the engine codes 301 to 303 and also alleviated the missing/running on 5 cylinders and then no codes again for 1000-3000 miles. I did have one fouled plug in cylinder 1, but it was not from oil. The ignition coil had gone bad, causing the spark plug to fail. My car is 2012 Odyssey Touring with 176,000 miles on it. The engine uses about 1 quart of oil in 6000 miles so I don't think it's awful considering how many miles there are on the vehicle. It also has a small external oil leak and I can smell the oil burned on the engine occasionally when I get out of the car. My driving is 90% freeway/highway because I drive long distance a lot and even my local driving by itself is 80% highway. Very very little stop and go driving at all. But anyway all the engine codes have been addressed and all my plugs are new NGK and all ignition coils are good. Everything is working now. My plan is to buy a muzzling device that will allow me to see as soon as the engine starts getting too hot, so I want one of the automated ones. And as I understand it, I should also use techron on half tank of gas, 2 times successively.

Any input between the muzzlers that automatically adjust? Difference in installation process, pros/cons comparatively? I'm gonna be driving in temps ranging from 0 degrees F to 120 degrees F.

I've already read through the post that details the different types available but I am not permitted to comment on posts and I wouldn't mind input on the S-VCM and the other one that is automated and allows overheating (if it occurs) to be observable on the temp gauge in the dash.

I started a thread on DriveAccord about why I chose VCMTuner II over S-VCM:
