i installed low frequency noise dampers on the rear, lower brake caliper bolts by removing them and replacing them with a special bolt/stud.
I don't like to make judgments regarding noise abatement but since my wife also felt there was something different, I'm going to say they did indeed reduce the low end noise modestly. Since they are pretty cheap and a breeze to install, I'm calling the project a success.
