Just performed the first oil change on out '10 Ody. I got the van up on ramps, and rolled under and thought...WTF.

The exhaust pipe runs within inches of the oil pan!

Anyone else notice this, and imagine sitting in traffic, boiling the crap out of the oil?

thoughts?

The Engine Oil Change DIY is here:

The pic you talked about is here, nothing to worry about, but I notice Honda introduces a bend into the exhaust pipe (upstream of the catalytic), which I am not sure why. In theory that exhaust pipe does not need a U-turn!!!

This is so the exhaust pipes for the front and back rows of cylinders have the same length. The u-turn allows them to meet below the middle of the engine where they are joined to the pipe that goes to the back.
