MIL went away / going to see if it stays away = CEL off. Does have DTC = CEL on. What's the DTC, is it not emissions related?
Permanent DTC to be specific. If it's just a temporary/pending DTC, there will be no CEL but if that system has a secondary warning you may see that (for example, a pending EVAP DTC will cause the check fuel cap message to appear, then when it becomes a permanent DTC, the CEL will turn on)Does have DTC = CEL on
Ok, so I should drive for 50 miles more or so to see if it comes on, instead of erasing all ('stored in car computer') and doing another complete cycle, and possibly still have it come on? All monitors are set but 'EVA' which I assume is Evap, not sure how it's testing that, but I tightened up the fuel cap anyway.Permanent DTC to be specific. Yep, I was confident because the engine light has stayed off as it goes through all monitors, then I found that in CA they will allow to test with one monitror not ready, EVAP being last. I was about to take it in and did one last scan and P0420 display in scan. Hence, I expect light to return once final monitor tests. So, I guess new cat is only option? Bummer - Odyssey 2005 Touring, about 130k miles. The EVAP test takes a very long time to complete, speaking from experience. There are a lot of conditions required for it to pass, like the gas tank has to be between 1/4 and 3/4 full, the outside temperature has to be under 95 degrees, etc.
