what I did to this 401 issue listed below.

a. replaced EGR - did not help
b. took manifold off, found clogged EGR port, cleaned that up with carb

after i told advanced auto what i did , guy at advanced auto said it could be Evap Sensor that throws the code p0401 but that things cost about $100.00.

Would someone give me ideas what i should replace next?

Check wires and connectors. Make sure you got all ports clear of carbon. Possibly new EGR is bad.

Make sure you have cleaned all of the carbon from the intake manifold egr port. I did this once and did not get the clogged port completely cleared and had to redo the job. I pushed a plastic zip tie through the port to make sure it was clear. Good Luck
