I can't answer #1.

On #2, my 2010 Touring does that also. It happens when I drive under an overpass and am in shade, causing the lights to do what they're supposed to do. If it bothers you then during the day just turn the switch off of auto mode.

My wife's blackberry curve works just fine..she hasn't mentioned anything about it disconnecting.

No issues with my Droid X either.

Problem is its happening in broad daylight without going underneath anything
I wonder is something is loose in the wiring of the sensor that controls the auto function.

There's an option where you can change the sensitivity of the auto light setting in the trip computer.

Sounds like a loose connection, not a light sensitivity issue. (If it were the latter, the lights would always be on during daylight, not turning on and off under the same light conditions.)

DVD - Can you play anything else

We have the 2011 cherry pearl Touring and as I understand it, if the kids are wearing headphones while enjoying a DVD, that I should be able to listen to something else like am radio up front.

I have tried multiple ways and am at a loss in figuring this one out. I can only handle Thomas the Train or anything else for so long.
Appreciate any input.

Push rear source (so the light turns on) and then dvd, this sends sound to the back (or headphones in your case)

Push rear source again so the light goes out, then select whatever audio you want.

Now you should have dvd audio to the headphones, and whatever you want thru the speakers.

Actually, mine does the on/off occasionally too.

I figured it had to do with the van's angle to the sun. If the roof shades the sensor on the dash, it tends to come on sometimes.

I was hoping it was just a sensitivity issue, though I haven't tried tweaking it yet.

Different vehicle, but I have a Subaru Outback. Its auto-on lights turn on when I go under even the smallest overpass. It's really quite frustrating. And, there's no user-selectable sensitivity adjustment.

Where is the sensor on the Odyssey?

Interior. Front dash in the middle near the window. You can put your hand over it to add shade and test where it is.

It seems to come on during the day when I'm driving north, especially when it's a little overcast. The sun hangs low in the south sky this time of year, so I figured it might be a shading issue with the sensor.

I wonder what would happen to the OP if he adjusted sensitivity. I'm getting motivated to do so myself to see if it helps.

Please let us know if you do and how it turns out.

I haven't noticed the problem, but truth be told, it's my wife's vehicle. So it's possible that it is occurring and she just hasn't noticed it yet. (Picture two active kids in the back seat taking up whatever attention is not paid to actually driving. :) )

blue tooth

I have an iphone and my wife has a regualr phone. we have not exprienced any issue with our 2011 Odyssey Blue tooth. If you have a good attenna coverage, then I would take it back have them search for a loose connection

Seeing that you mentioned having "good coverage", I assume you're talking about handsfree calling, not streaming audio (both of which use Bluetooth, but only the latter with problems).

Can you please do me a favor? Try pushing the "Aux" audio input button a few times until it says "Bluetooth" then try playing songs via your iPhone (holding it in your hand; it doesn't need to be plugged in to anything). Try fast forwarding and see if it takes a few seconds.

Better yet, watch an iTunes video or YouTube and see if the audio is in sync with the video. It should be, but Honda's streaming audio is broken so I suspect it will be off.

I'd be curious if there's anyone out there who doesn't have the problem.

Yes, part of the functions settings via the Multi-Information Display

Manual, page 117

5 sensitivity settings: MAX, HIGH, MID, LOW and MIN
Does anyone know if you can change the headlight settings on a non-Touring model? The manual appears to indicate you need to press the info button on the steering controls to access the Multi-Information Display setup screens. The non-Touring models don't have the info button, so are we stuck with the default setting? I sure hope not, because the sensitivity as it is is just ridiculous. When driving at twighlight or overcast conditions, they headlights keep flicking on and off. People in front of me on the interstate probably think I am being an a-hole flashing them to get over (not that I wouldn't wish they would at times :) ).

My wife has a Alltel Samsung Doubletake (U450) and has been having similiar connection issues. Alltel has replaced the phone twice without the problem being fixed.

Bluetooth issue

I have a 2011 Honda Odyssey EX-L RES (Black with Truffle interior). My bluetooth started doing the disconnect and re-connect in June of this year. I purchased the van in March of this year. I deleted the phone and re installed it via the bluetooth. I also have issues with it not recognizing the phone. My cell phone is a Droid X, and my carrier is Verizon. I wen to Verizon about the issue and they informed me that they don't quarantee and phone will work with your car's bluetooth device because software is always changing and updating. So they basically left me on my own.

I have had many isses with my van since buying it. My back bumper keeps bowing up in the center so I am now going to have to hav ethe dealer order, paint and then install the new one.
My xm radio reciever was also defective when I bought it. The xm would work and them stop working and give me no information on the screen or it would give me many letters and characters displayed on the screen. I had to hound the dealership, because XM said they couldn't fix the problem because it was hardware related. The dealership called in a specialist to come address the issue and my whole dash and one side of my trunk had to be taken apart to fix the issue. I had to have a new xm reciever and radio unit.
One of the plastic side pieces on the 3rd row came discolored and I had to have it replaced.
The seats are leather, and the driver seat is dry even with conditioning and tinting the front windows (like the rest of the windows that were already tinted). The driver seat is become really worn looking and doesn't look like it belongs in my van. I am only a 138 lbs, plus I detail my van weekly. It's on the bottom part of the drivers seat that is doing this.
The front passenger pillar airbag emblem clip is broken so had to order another one.
The 2nd row drivers side sund shade (made into the door) one side of the plastic part that attaches to the clips on the top of the windo broke, plus the opposite clip isn't installed correctly and wiggles when touched. Both items are being replaced.

Also when listening to my ipod (pluged in the glove box usb port) the menu will freeze and so will the ipod and it won't play again unless I unplug the ipod and plug it back in.

I find the interior isn't made as durable as my 2005 Honda Odyssey.

I DO LOVE my van. I really am thinking I got a bad one. I love my MPG. I drove from central Texas to GA and I averaged 31 MPG. I drove on 1 and a half tanks of gas. I got just a hair over 600 miles on the first tank! I still love many features about the van. I just wish there were not so many little issues. Makes me worry about the mechanical part.

Anyone else having any of these issues?

Also I havev found that when using the bluetooth in the van, that when someone calls me the person on the other end has a hard time hearing me and understanding me. I have to talk pretty loud and have my volume up very loud. Is anyone else experiencing this? I also find the small rearview mirror to view your passengers seems to be too close to me. In my old van I could see the whole back 2 rows no problem. I think on the new model because of the windsheild being so much higher they put the mirror there not realizing this. I I am 5'7" and find it hard to get a good angle to see all of my passengers.
