I've read through all of the complaints about waiting and my heart goes out to you. I walked up and bought my '02 LX off of the lot. My local dealers seem to always have them on the lot. If anyone wants one, let me know. I'll tell you what they have and I'd be glad to bring it to you (fun trip). I'll even throw in the $50 my salesman offered as a referral incentive, (of course, if you fly me back!) just because I'm so happy with mine and would prefer if everyone else could get theirs sooner. PS - I paid sticker for mine and got the roof rack and mudguards thrown in because I didn't want them.

The same goes for me. I bought off the lot, same day from the Honda dealer in Wenatchee, WA. I don't know if they have any 02's on the lot, but they do have new 01's. Price is MSRP.

They also have some Canadian 2002 ex models that they sell with a 100,000 mile after market warranty, and those sell for MSRP too, I believe. I would not recommend going this route, though. There's a lot of potential problems with resale value, and the fact that there's no Honda warranty scares me.

Ahhhh! But the dealer is in Baton Rouge, LA. I guess I should have posted that the first time. There is another dealer in BR, but they don't seem to have them on the lot, much. There is a dealer in Metairie, LA that also has them on the lot every time I pass there. When I checked, however, they didn't seem to like the letters MSRP, but my feeling is they could get there. The dealership I bought from had no problem, which means I probably could have gotten it for less if I would have pressed even harder. The dealerships: BR - Richard's and Team; Metairie - Royal. Check 'em out! And good luck on your search!

And I almost forgot - those of you that are waiting - please go and find one and buy it elsewhere, making sure you go by the dealership you are waiting on to show it off. It's important because they need to know they're losing business. And, of course, make sure they know that you got it for MSRP or less. It'll help push the dealers and keep the price gouging to a minimum.

I got my Ody in a week from Goodwin Honda in Sumter, SC (Mike Boan, Sales Manager) and actually had 3 other dealers in SC trying to get me to buy. They had Odys in stock. Got mine for MSRP and some added goodies. If you need help, call me and I'll do some checking for you. And I'm military, NOT a dealer.
