I just purchased a 2008 EX well maintained 169K. It runs and looks fine. New tires summer 90% and Blizzak snow tires 95% on Ody rims, recent brakes front and rear, timing belt at 130K, oil and filter <1k ago etc. The tranny was replaced at 140K with a used one with 40K on it according to the paperwork. Seems like it's time for a drain and refill a few times. I've already read the posts in this regard.
So my question is, has anyone used an oil extractor to drain the tranny mostly before pullung the drain plug to get the last bit out and check the magnet? It's much easier to handle the majority of the old fluid in the extractor than a drain pan.
Just wondering and any other suggestions what it may need. There is absolutely no vibration at any speed up to 75 so I'm guessing the motor mounts are fine.
thanks and btw it's a second vehicle for my daughter and her family. Our 7 yr old granddaughter totally LOVES it, well almost as much as our Mazda MX5 Miata PRHT.
