Contact Honda and tell them you want them to paint the van. Also, ask to meet with the Honda Zone rep. Be nice, and don't take no for an answer.

Unless the van has been repainted, paint peeling is usually a problem with surface prep at the factory.

I have the same situation. Paint on hood has peeled off, and the roof is just starting to let go. How can we expect they repaint the car? It's well outside of any factory warranty.

I don't know how likely it is that they'll immediately opt it to paint it, but if you can prove that there was no external damage to the paint and it is coming off like it has for many others, they may be a little better about it. Since this is a common and known issue on these vehicles, they be more or less likely to help you out based on the attitude you approach with. Like Marvin said, be firm but don't be rude and your chances will go up

 

Out of curiosity, would your van happen to be either black or navy blue? If so, I've noticed a slew of Hondas of a wide range of years in these colors that have the same problems. Accords, Civics, Pilots, Odysseys. I'm definitely thinking its the paint they're using, not just a bad batch.

 

I know the white color is terrible in terms of longevity. Honda had bad prep for that specific color on the pilots and odysseys.

 

Flat, if you don't ask you'll never know. My 1986 Pontiac was repainted by GM in 1996.

You have to make sure that Honda knows that your know they screwed up royally!

A coworker of mine has a black civic I believe 08 and he got it repainted by Honda due to a recall about 4 years ago.
