PAX Wheels on an EX-L?

Hi,

I am new here and I've been searching posts for awhile but can't find the answer to my concern. Is it possible for an EX-L to have the PAX wheel on them?

My husband and I are looking at buying a used 2007 EX-L and we love it, but the wheels have the 10 spoke rim so we are concerned that they are the PAX wheel. Can a 10 spoke rim be a regular wheel or is it only found on the PAX wheels?

I hope any of this makes sense. The dealer is not sure if the tires are PAX or not, it is not a Honda dealership. thank you.

Check the tire, only Pax tires will fit on a pax rim. You cannot put a regular tire on a pax rim.
Sorry for my ignorance, but what do PAX tires look like?
Physically look at the tire and it should say pax, it will also be made by michelin. Also the van you are looking at may also have aftermarket rims. I seriously doubt it has pax as the hubs are different and way too heavy for the hubs on an ex-l. Tell the dealership to do the leg work. Do a search on google as well.
Will it say PAX on the tire? woops, just now reading your previous post, ignore this question. Thank you!

That would be a very bad assumption. Dealers have been KNOWN to swap out rims from used vans if they try to sell a Touring equipped with PAX and the customer wants it dePaxed. There are at least 2 instances on here where people buying a used Touring asked it be dePaxed and the stealer just pulled the rims/tires off an EX-L. And the EX-L can definitely handle the heavier PAX assemblies just fine just like how the Touring can handle the OEM dePaxed rims/tries but I am not sure why someone would want to add PAX v/s actually dePaxing. You are right however in saying that the assemblies are different as they indeed are different.

Bottomline, the rims/tires could be after market but to say there can never be PAX rims/tires on a used EX-L is sort of flawed.

For the OP. Do your homework. Check out the physical tires and sure enough the tire itself will say PAX on it. If you have a normal tire, it will say something like 235x65R16 or something like that like a normal tire. PAX tire do not have normal tire size printed on 'em if I am not mistaken.

Well, we just found out that they ARE PAX tires! :( BUMMER!! It has a spare that is not a PAX tire so I am guessing the previous owners dealer swapped them out and she didn't know it! Probably why she traded it in for something else. :(

Hmmmm.....is it worth the hassle of depaxing the tires to get the van?

Tell the stealer that you will take the EX-L if and only if he gives you the van dePaxed. No sense in paying for the van and then paying around $1200 for the dePax.
