So for those who haven't checked/replaced their PCV valve, be aware that there is an insert that the bolt goes through that slides in from the engine side of the valve. I saw it, but figured it was pressed in (it is not) so when I removed the valve, it dropped, and as luck would have it, I heard it hit the undercover and then roll a little (didn't fall through to the ground) - I figured no worries, grabbed my magnet on a stick and figured I'd get it no problem (since I couldn't really see it) - no dice (found out that it is not magnetic...) - so under the van I went and eventually found it. (banging on the undercover I couldn't find it rattling around - it got jammed in there between the undercover and frame)

Turned a 5 minute install into a half hour or so of wasted time (so more annoying than anything else) - also found that Honda moved the PCV valve to the drivers side of the front head (used to be on the passenger side - at least on our old 05 Odyssey and our 05 Pilot) tucked under an engine harness. (took me a minute to find it!)

I just hate when something drops and you don't hear it hit the floor... anyway - hope to save someone the aggravation if I can! (it's easy enough to not drop it if you know it's loose!)

Could be worse...the J series generation before the one used on the 3rd gen Odyssey had the PCV valve on the rear head...

I see all these PCV valve stories and think about the fun times my mechanic will have when it comes time to change mine.

lived through the same pain...
used a glue stick to hold in the sleeve on the replacement pcv.

I find the hondas eat parts the worst once they fall into those plastic covers.

I imagine all openings in the engine compartment of a Honda to now be a black hole, and that saves me from dropping parts!
