I have been facing a persistent issue with my 2011 Honda Odyssey EX-L where the engine light is constantly on. I have taken several steps to try to resolve the problem, but unfortunately, I have not been successful. I'm reaching out to this community for any advice or suggestions to help fix this issue.
Here are the activities I have undertaken so far to try to repair the engine light issue:
- Replaced front Variable Valve Timing (VVT) Solenoid / Actuator.
- Replaced both Bank1 and Bank2 oil pressure switches with OEM parts.
- Noticed engine misfire and flashing engine light.
- Visited Firestone, where they initially suggested replacing the PCM. Waited almost 5 days for the old PCM to be ordered and reprogrammed, but the issue persisted even after the replacement.
- Firestone then reinstalled the old PCM and replaced the front VVT Solenoid / Actuator, which fixed the engine misfire but did not resolve the P3400 error code. I was charged $450 for this diagnosis and work.
- Firestone suggested replacing the rear VVT Solenoid / Actuator and engine valve gasket for a cost of $1000, which I found unreasonable.
- I then took the car to another mechanic who replaced the rear VVT Solenoid / Actuator, but the issue remained unresolved.
- With the help of a friend, I replaced the engine valve gasket, all 6 spark plugs, PCV valve, and cleaned the throttle body, also replacing the gasket.
I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or advice from the community on additional steps I can take to fix this issue and avoid further unwarranted expenses.
Thank you in advance for your help and expertise.
