Hi, just had my 06 EXL's rear rotors replaced.

I asked the guy to put on Honda OEM rotors and he put on Pilenga. When I questioned him, he told me the Pilenga's are more expensive and better. Sounded fishy to me.
They are made in Italy. Are they as good as OEM? I don't want problems and I am a bit miffed he didnt put on what I asked for. He also used akebono pads, which from my understanding are good pads.

Any thoughts? How much of a stink should I make?

IMO the Honda rotors are below average (sure there is worse, so I don't call them crap, just below average)

Although I have not used Pilenga personally, they seem to be average or better from other reviews you can google.

I wouldn't be too upset just yet

If they vibrate in 20k miles, then be upset and tell him you will be back

and akebono pads are excellent, I don't think your mechanic is pulling anything shady. He probably knows the Honda rotors aren't that great.

Had he put some cheap Chinese crap rotors from ebay on there, then you could be mad at him
