I'm guessing it throw a rod or two - a piston can't 'blow' and put a hole in the block or oil pan. I'd say this is extremely rare with the J35 engine. A possible cause would be cylinders flooded with gas from stuck injectors after running, then bending or breaking rods on the next start. Otherwise from low oil, used-up oil, failed oil pump, excessive RPM and/or very severe driving.
