We are going on a roadtrip soon, and I was wondering if anyone has found a way to lock the doors with the engine running?

The use case here is the family sleeping in the car, AC running, while the unfortunate overnight driver makes a quick pit stop.

I'll have to try it. This DOES not work on my 8th gen civic. I assume the keyfob has to be removed from the car for this to work?

If the keyfob is removed, will the engine keep running, and if so, will it start the annoying "keyfob missing" beeps?

That did the trick. The keyfob lock would not work. But with the physical key, the engine keeps running, no beeps, and the car locks ?.
