Power Steering Noise (Cold)

Working on a 2005 Odyssey -- when cold, the power steering pump is noisy, as if cavitating. After the car is run a short while, the noise goes away. Fluid level is correct, and since this car has been in the family since new, I can safely assume the fluid is Honda approved. I read on another site that power steering pumps will sometimes behave as I've described if the o-ring sealing the inlet line is bad. That advice was for power steering pumps in general (not specific to Hondas) so I thought I'd ask here if anyone is familiar with the problem?

One more note....the vacuum tool I bought on Amazon came with a little adapter for using on a windshield to fill a crack etc. It was a little round suction cup thing with a rubber connector for the vacuum tube. I just laid that suction cup over the top of the reservoir and it held vacuum no problem. I did order the rubber stopper kit but it hadn't arrived so I used this. It was fine. Nice little kit. Can bleed brakes or do this vacuum bleed on power steering. The latest update is I still get a little noise when stopped and applying gas while turning the wheel. It's much less but still annoying. I am thinking to return the Cardone rebuild and bite the bullet on a true new Honda 04 pump (the newest one). Hate taking it all apart again, especially since that new belt was a bear to put on! Otherwise the vacuum kit was helpful in getting the bulk of the air out that I could not get with just turning the wheel.
