Protecting Radiator Fins from Bugs

I am getting ready to take my first long trip in my Odyssey. A friend suggested that I purchase some fine mesh that can be inserted between the grill and radiator to prevent bugs from damaging the fins on my radiator. Has anyone out there done this or something similar? What materials did you use and how did you install it? Doesn't this affect the air flow into the radiator?
