I have a 2005 and have questions about features in the 2005 that annoy me in the 2005 - wondering if they are the same in the 2011

Lack of illumination of the garage door opener button, always find myself fumbling to find the buttons. It has those silly LED 'mood' lights but buttons you basically use on every trip are not illuminated- are 2011 garage door opener buttons illuminated?

Does the 2011 have the same ridiculous window locking design - e.g. when the master window lock button is pressed the driver cannot close the rear windows - is this still the same backwards design? I want to stop passengers (kids) opening/closing rear windows but still have the driver be able to open/close them. This is the way most other cars I've experienced are designed.

Wow, those are such small little problems. I'm amazed that they're that much of a concern for you. But on the other hand, if that's all you've got to complain about on the '05, then I suppose Honda built a pretty good van!

I don't believe the Homelink buttons are illuminated on the '11. I don't think I've ever noticed either way. I too had an '05, and after only a week or two of owning it, and using the Homelink buttons, I got to the point where I just knew where the buttons were and could push them without even having to look up. I'm surprised you still have to look for those buttons after using it for the last six years. Perhaps your problem is you're always trying to find them with your eyes first? Try using those buttons based on feel and I'm sure you'll start doing it automatically, without looking.

Same goes for the power windows. If they're locked: unlock, close the window, then relock. Really not a big deal.

Again, if those are your two biggest concerns, then they'll probably continue to be a concern in the '11. However, these are rather small things. I'm sure you'll enjoy the '11 better than the '05, either way. Not that the '05 is a bad vehicle. If I were still driving my '05 today, I'd be more than satisfied with it. I just like the '11 a little better.

Well, at least I can answer the original question. Yes, the homelink buttons are illuminated, but not brightly. When the window lock button is on, the only window that can be adjusted by the driver is the front left window, the one next to the driver.

Thanks jrsquonk for the specific answer to my question. One fixed out out of two is better than nothing I guess. The window locking design is beyond me. All other cars I've ever had have the sensible design of the driver being able to override the other windows. If you have kids you know why this feature is important.

Won't bother to answer bar10dah's post.

It is far better to answer the questions asked instead of criticize the quality of the questions.

They sounded like very reasonable questions to me and its seems ridiculous that the driver would not always have control of the windows regardless of what position the switch is in.

To the OP: I am glad you were able to get your question answered.
