My wife was driving our 2003 EX-L RES and she smelt something burning. She rolled down the window and the smell wasn't outside. Then smoke starting rolling out from around the radio and out of the cassette deck. We took it to the dealer and they confirmed that the radio has issues and not a wiring problem. The weird thing is the radio still works but we are not using it now.

Obviously we are not using it but need to replace it. Does anyone know an affordable place to buy OEM radios (used, not new) or a honest repair shop to fix it. Fixing will probably cost more than just replacing it.

Sucks... if you go on ebay you should be able to find one for pretty cheap.

This has been reported before. Most of the times, it was determined that a child had inserted some loose change into the CD slot, shorting something out inside the radio.

Where there is smoke there is fire soon to follow. I would remove it or at least offset it. You may get enough change out of it to help offset a new radio.
