I have a 2020 EX and I thought I had a feature for the rear camera when I was backing up and if someone walked behind my car, the grid on the screen would turn red and I would get an auditble warning. Does this sound familiar or am I thinking of my prior car? thanks very much

I have a 19 exl which does have that feature. I believe there is an option to enable/disable it in the settings.

Yes, that's the cross-traffic monitoring. Next time you put your van in reverse, it should be the option on the bottom right of the screen - I believe it looked something like << >>

As FinishLine said, it's also in the settings. The steps should be
Settings -> Vehicle -> Driver Assist System Setup -> Blind Spot Information (can pick between audible and visual alerts or just visual)

Thanks very much for the reply. I just checked my settings as you have listed and my EX is set up that way. I have tested with me backing up and my wife would walk across and it did not pick her up. I was wondering if this feature is on the more expensive Odessey's. But this is very frustrating. I brought it back to the dealer and they said nothing is wrong.

Wow! I wonder why they would have it with sensors in the USA and camera's in Canada? Oh well, probably something with the Gov't.. Especially like the idea that you can switch on the side mirror to your center screen if this is the case. I know of one other thing I cannot understand why Honda did this, Canada's windshield fluid container is larger than the USA ones. I guess they thought 35 cents more plastic was going to be saved per vehicle in doing this. Also it has a low level washer fluid sensor as well, it's as though nobody in the USA would like that feature as well, I guess we are just so lucky to have a gas gauge. ;)

As @digitalextremes pointed out, the Canadian lower trims get the lanewatch camera and the upper trims get BSI. While towing I like the lanewatch camera, but would probably prefer BSI otherwise. Maybe Honda was just using up their supply of cameras.

I checked and I do not have cross traffic alerts on my Canadian EX rear camera (not that I can find anyways) so maybe @richscram's US EX does not either.

Wow my screen is dusty.

I don't understand the washer fluid business in the US either. My expectation is that an alert comes up when the washer fluid is low, and at that time there is enough room in the reservoir to add a full 4l / 1gal jug (so your are not stuck with a partially full jug). While it is not a regulatory requirement, I have never owned a car here that does not do that (and I have owned some pretty cheap cars).

Another difference I don't understand is that front wiper area windshield heaters are standard up here but I know they would benefit a lot of people in Northern states as well.

On washer fluid tank size and the front heated windshield, we get ripped off. Why they didn't make this a OEM option I will never understand. I wonder if the wiring for the washer fluid tank is there for the sensor and is already programmed for it and the larger tank has the same mounting holes like this?
