There have been some accusations that I might be a "Honda schill" or "Honda fanboy". To dispel these rumors, I thought I would share the current vehicles in my fleet, newest to oldest:

Not pictured is a Honda HRX self-propelled lawnmower.

At this point, I would like to pause for a moment of silence and "pour one out" for our 2018 Honda Odyssey. This vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly departed from our garage. The unofficial diagnosis was a failing connecting rod bearing. Our van was not part of the recall.

So, hopefully this shows that I am not aligned with any particular brand of vehicle. I definitely am not a Honda fanboy.
Nice flex! Honda strong, Honda proud!! Joking aside, love the new rides. OP, you can either follow the MM or change the fluid early, either way will be fine as long as you actually change it. Keeping fresh fluids in the vehicle will only help with longevity.
