2003 and the original compressor squealed it’s displeasure and wants out of our relationship.
I know I’ve got to “store” my refrigerant correct? Where? Pep boys, any A/C company even home or buisness? I just return and they recharge back what I gave them? Expected price for this service?
It looks straight forward. 4 bolts to frame. 2 screws/bolts on both pressure lines, I heard be gentle, they may bind or break. I also heard there is a plate that covers/protects these too.
Last the electrical connector. Am I missing anything?
I’m wanting to find a local shop that specializes in rebuilt auto compressors. I’m in Fort Lauderdale so I think they exist. I’m thinking of warranty down the road. Not against the local parts store though.
Important was to MAKE SURE the compressor oil is topped off where it’s specs say it should be. New gaskets on lines of course. Then install is reverse of removal. Missing anything?
Now go back and retrieve my R134? Cross my fingers I leave there feeling a cold breeze through my flowing golden locks of hair?
it WAS blowing 41 degrees before going tits up. It only happened 3 weeks ago and I’ve made sure never to engage it while unhappy.
I welcome any advice.
Is replacing anything now worth the effort and cost to just do now as opposed to a “I told you so” breakdown on a July afternoon?
