I would like to purchase cross bars for my EX "roof rack", but I am not sure which ones to buy.

If I buy the Honda ones, can I use them for anything? I know I read previously on this board that I cannot use a luggage carrier with the Honda cross bars. Can I do other things with it? For instance, could I carry home a 10' christmas tree with the Honda cross bars?

What product is a good alternative to the Honda cross bars and how does it compare cost-wise?

If you are planning on using a luggage carrier, look at the Thule and Yakima alternatives. A ittle more costly up front, but these give you the strength you need for a carrier.

I personally use the Thule bars with a black Thule cargo box. The black looks very cool on top of the van.

If I remember correctly, the Thule bars were about $157 ... $115 for the railing foot pack and $42 for the 50" load bars.
