My 2001 Ody has developed a slightly rough idle. I just had the tranny rebuilt and the idle seems to not be as smooth as before I got the work done. The tranny shop replaced all the soft parts in the tranny and also replaced the solenoid assy, the PCM, the torque converter as well as the 4th gear clutch drum. I took it back to them and they told me that a vacuum line was causing the problem and they said they fixed it. It seems to be better but is still there. Any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks

None. My wife has also said that she feels like the car wants to surge back and forth. I have not experienced this yet since she just told me about it today.

Sounds like you need to clean out your EGR port.

Use a drill then hook compressed air up to the port and blow it out.

Can you better explain drilling it out for me. I know, sounds stupid, but I have made many mistakes doing things on cars when I "thought" I knew what to do. Any help would be great.

Search using the terms "clean + egr + port" and you'll get a good amount of info. The following is a good thread:
