My 2011 is less tha a year old and has rust forming between the chrome plastic trim where the door handle is mounted and the tailgate metal close to the the tail lights and near the handle.
It appears the water is being held here and rusting the metal. To check yours just lift your hatch an look straight up the rear plate and examine the area around the chrome trim.
The dealer took pictures of mine and said they would call me in for a fix.
Let me know if others are having this issue or is it just Northern Ontario.
