I have a 2003 Ody with about 140K miles, and no major problems so far. Recently I noticed that when switching between gears the shifter has almost no resistance, with just a bare click for each setting. The shifter still has to be fully depressed to change a gear, but once deppressed it feels very loose. Tha transmissin works fine, without noticable difference from before. Searching old posts I found a possible cause might be a broken detent spring, but no details what and where it is. Is it somewhere in the steering column, or buried deep in the trasmission? Can it be relatively easily replaced? Thanks.
