Hi guys,
You may have seen my 2011 Sienna bash thread after 10 months out of hell with Toyota. That headache was over this AM!
I showed up at Hugh White in CMH and everything went smooth. I took the car for a looooong test drive and parked at a gas station and inspected for all the common flaws, ie windshield distortion (OK now, faint at 1" from the very right edge on this 7 layer windshield does not bother me), paint dripping at door trims, hatch not clearing bumper, rough shifting etc. Nada problemos.
Got the $1250 8/100k Honda Care, thanks for the info odyclubbers!
Now the fun part, i am pulling into I-70E Brice Rd., and traffic just stops near the last Brice Rd exit before Pickerington. Started playing with Navi, big yellow triangle says Accident, details are semi with car, DETOUR offered! Wow, i am from out of town, so CMH to me is like NYC, navi guides on back roads to the Pickerington exit, where traffic was zero, curiosity stop went about 5 miles in the opposite direction.
Zipping and zooming, i leaned a bit to settle my espresso (extracted 06AM, i roast my beans too) and i swear i could not have moved the steering more than 1-2mm, sure enough the car responded, what a refresher from the Nintendo steering in the Sienna.
The interior is a lesson in design, a blend of understated functional layouts with the play of 2 shades of gray, and black that look more like from a German car. Now if Honda would put the sweet short throw 6MT and SHAWD a-la-TL i would be driving minivans for a long time. Sorry folks but 2-pedal cars are unnatural to me, loved by my better half of course.
I love it, we love it, kids love it.
Now the big questions:
1. In the 2nd row aisle, if middle seat removed, are there plastic covers for the hooks and a carpet to go over them like there were in the 2005 Ody Touring?
2. What winter wheel/tire setup works well for this car?
