So I checked the mega thread and from my searches I haven't been able to find this one, maybe someone has an idea? I'm not mechanic, just a guy who uses youtube and forums a lot. Mine is a 2007 Odyssey EXL. So, history of work on the doors:
1) About a month ago the sliding door on the driver side wouldn't latch properly and I was getting the parasitic drain on the battery and continuous alarm. I quickly found the solution on the forums and pulled the panel and removed the mechanism to give it a good cleaning and lube job. I think it solved the problem (door would close and no alarm anymore), but not 100% sure because:
2) Less than 2 days later the cable on the passenger side snapped and the door wouldn't latch properly and I was getting the parasitic drain and the dash warning that something was wrong with that door. I didn't have time to fix it at that time so kept charging it up and finally got to it today:
3) Being a cheap ass I cut the cables with the plan of going manual. While I had it taken a part I changed the rollers as well as they were pretty worn (used genuine Honda parts, no cheap amazon ones). Door seems to be working just fine in manual now.
4) Figured I'd make the driver side sliding door manual at the same time, no point in only having one in manual so I cut those cables and now both doors are manual. But here is where it gets odd...
PROBLEM: The driver side sliding door, which was working just fine, now no longer opens from the outside. I pull the handle and nothing happens at all...I reef on the handle, and nothing happens; fast slow, hard gentle...nothing makes it happy! Now with that said if I open it from the inside, no problem at all! Un-latches and slides open just fine, just nothing happening from the outside. The passenger side opens from both inside and out without issue.
PROBLEM 2: Not sure if this is to be expected, as I didn't see it in the video, but I get a warning now on the dash that both the right and left sliding doors have a problem.
So guys, any suggestions?
