Sliding doors and hatch intermittently won't open/close

Hi guys,

I searched the forum but couldn't find a satisfactory answer. For whatever reason, our van will randomly decide that it no longer wants to open/close the sliding doors or the hatch. When it does this, if affects both sliding doors and hatch. It's always all 3 that won't work. Sometimes it happens with the doors open, sometimes when they're closed. None of the buttons will open or close them. Neither key fob, inside nor outside door handles, the buttons on the dash or the buttons on the pillar. Nothing will open them. The only thing that "fixes" it is switching the door power switch that's on the dash from ON to OFF and back to ON. So far this fixes it, but only temporarily. I'd say this happens at least every 3rd or 4th time we use the van. It happens often enough it's getting very annoying and I'm concerned it'll happen during a rain storm or cause our kids to be locked in the van etc. What's the deal? Why is this happening? Is there a fix for this? At first it was only a minor annoyance but it's starting to happen a lot more often.

The power door switch that you have to toggle sometimes goes bad - that sounds like what you are experiencing. Replace it and it should be all good.

Have you scanned the van with a scan tool?

I have one that pairs with my phone and the report produced is excellent for the low price of this auto one bought scan tool.

check your battery connections and verify neither are loose, and verify they don’t need to be cleaned.

Good idea, that makes sense. I appreciate the input.

Yes I've checked the van, no DTCs. Batter connections are clean and tight.

Uh oh!
When ours did that this past week it was because the battery was low. Jury still out on whether the battery is going bad or was just eun down from being in accessory mode too long (or a combination).
In my case, I already had the vehicle running. Since our days are getting hot, I started the van and let it run for 5 or 10 minutes before loading up the little one to head for the van.
