Not sure exactly what happened, but they did no damage getting in (I ALWAYS LOCK it, but I suppose there is always the possibility of a first time.)
However, they did tear up the two glove boxes pretty good. We had them locked and they pried them open.
The insurance company is playing dueling deductibles, my $500 homeowner's deductible applies to the stolen items, and our $1,000 comprehensive deductible applies to the damage to the glove boxes.
So I'd like to keep the cost down as much as possible.
A couple of glove boxes are well within my abilities, but I do have some questions.
First, where's the best place to get the parts? Anyone have a good, inexpensive source?
Second, what is involved in keeping the lock from the first set (which wasn't damaged to my knowledge.
I'd rather not have to pay the dealer to do this as I'm sure they add a pretty premium to do something that I could do myself in a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon.
Thanks for any help,
